Not only is he going to be staring in this webisode series, he's also working behind the scenes as Executive Producer! I'm excited about this, though I'm still looking forward to getting to see him Direct (which he's been asked to do for the Farscape webisodes when they are made).

Naught For Hire, a sci-fi/noir romp about a private detective and his relationship with the inanimate objects in his life, is one of those series.

Naught For Hire is created by screenwriter and producer Jeffrey Berman and produced by Berman’s production company RDRR Productions, which also created The Write Environment, which featured intimate interviews with a series of writers, the most popular episode featuring the fan-favorite, Joss Whedon. The series is based off a book of the same name by award winning writer, John E. Stith, who also co-writes on the series.

This description had me bouncing in my seat even more (if that was even possible).

The series will consist of six minute episodes with a 13 episode season planned. Episodes echo the spirit of pulp-style serialized detective stories, with each episode ending on a cliffhanger. Not forgetting the sci-fi side of the series, the show is set in a world 20 years in the future where humans co-exist with A.I. embedded objects, leaving hard-boiled, down-on-his-luck Private Detective Nick Naught to try to do his job while competing with a car that is in love with him, an elevator that won’t cooperate, and an answering machine that wants to do nothing but pull pranks on him. Imagine what his gun must be like…

with Ben's agent, Hank, that Ben has indeed been cast in Hellcats for the CW and they are already in production.

*calms down*

Now for what Hellcats is about... It's about Cheerleading. Competitive College Cheerleading and Ben will be playing the coach. According to that wiki page I link to it's going to be a cross between Election and Bring It On.

Character description: Ben Browder portrays Red Raymond. He is in his late 30's and is the Lancer's football coach. Described as a "handsome rogue who never lost the boyishness of youth", he banters on-and-off with his former romance Vanessa. He makes a pass on Alice while tending to her injury.

ETA: More info on the role.

HELLCATS (The CW) - Ben Browder ("Stargate SG-1") has joined the cast of the presentation, a drama set in the world of competitive college cheerleading. He'll reportedly play Red Irvine, Lancer University's football coach, "a handsome rogue who never lost the boyishness of youth." He and the Hellcats coach Vanessa Hodge (Sharon Leal) share a history - they had an affair while he, then married at the time, was an assistant coach and she was cheer captain - and now he wants payback (she dumped him after he left his wife without telling her) in the form of getting her fired after one of the Hellcats (Heather Hemmens) gets hurt. Aly Michalka, Ashley Tisdale, Gail O'Grady, Matt Barr, Robbie Jones and Sofia Vassilieva also star. Allan Arkush is directing the CBS Television Studios/Warner Bros. Television-based project from a script by Kevin Murphy.

I saw this on a Google Alert and wanted to spread the news:

In other pilot castings, Ben Browder, repped by Gersh and Hank McCann, rounds out the series regular cast of the CW’s Hellcats.

I have no clue as to what Hellcats is supposed to be about.

Considering that this states that it's a "pilot" we may never actually get to see it (there are hundreds each year that never see the light of day), I really don't want to get my hopes up too high, but honestly Ben on my television!!! is all I can think of at this moment and want to share with you.

Hopefully I can come up with some another variation of this to use as a post card, but if you'd like some other choices right now head over to the Ben Browder Portal (link is in the side menu). This particular image is done at 300 dpi for better quality printing.

via Angie on Terra Firma:

There is a film in development based on the Lee Child novel "One Shot". The screenplay has been adapted by Josh Olsen. I have heard from a good source Mr. Child likes Ben for Jack Reacher, the main character. Paramount however wants "a name". Ben fans unite!

Here is my suggestion: LAScaper and Shester are on board so look for their ideas as well coming soon! Also use IMDB boards, Twitter (you can follow Action_John), Facebook, MySpace, LJ where ever you hangout to encourage people to let Paramount know Ben is Reacher!

So if you're a fan of Ben, get the word out and send in those post cards. The address for Paramount is at the address above.

Take An Action... Even A Small One Makes A Difference

Producers of Freeze Frame have set back the production on the film to the Summer, 2010 based on a change in Galit McCord's schedule.

These are two of my favorite interviews to watch him in. Adorable can't accurately describe him as he discusses Farscape and his love of Australia. :D

with Craig Kilborn

with Craig Ferguston (promoting Peacekeeper Wars)

I love the hell out of the fact that Ben defends SciFi fans (well, he should since he is one himself) in the 2004 interview.

One thing I enjoy reading in Ben's interviews is his views as an actor, his humility in leaving the final judgment of his character(s) to the creators and to the fans. It's great to read that one of his favorite scenes to have shot on SG-1 was his scenes in the episode The Road Not Taken because that is one of my favorite episodes to watch him in despite the fact that we only get a short glimpse at Alt!Cameron in that universe.

This really was an awesome interview to read. Link

Before we start I want to thank Ben's management for setting us up and Ben Browder for his generosity and kindness, as he was most gracious with his time and the most fun to talk to anyone could possibly imagine. After a more or less "serious" start to the interview, while talking about his new project Freeze Frame, we spent the rest of the interview mostly joking and laughing about blogging, Twitter, a new career to fall back on and possibly killing someone with a Blackberry. This left me with a great dilemma .... do this strictly professional, keep it straight to Freeze Frame and serious, or go the fan-girl route. While listening to the interview again with a friend to write it down she commented that it was the funnest thing she had ever heard so it was decided - it has to be posted in full (or almost full ...)

I hope you enjoy.

BBO: First phone interview with you and there is a big quote on top of my notes and it says “Fail gloriously”.

Ben: Good Approach [laughs]
With the various interviews that Ben is doing lately, regarding Freeze Frame, it's easy to see what is typically asked beyond those pertaining to his current project(s). And it has me wondering what you would ask if given an opportunity to sit down and interview Ben? (not that he'd actually answer them all, you know how he can be. ;))

Myself, I'd ask him about how he approaches finding a character, how he interprets the writers words to bring a character to life. As well as ask him about his writing (though I'd avoid questions about what he's currently writing because I know he doesn't like to talk about that until things are all nice and shiny and ready for the world to see.)

What would you ask?

If you missed his interview last night, you can still listen to it on Sci-Fi Talk Live's website, download it on the page, or on iTunes (episode 50). They discuss Freeze Frame, Going Homer, as well as Farscape and SG-1. Touching off the beginning of the interview talking about the first time they met in New York two days before 9/11. The questions asked and the interviewer's (Tony Tellado ) comments are great, and we're treated to all sides of Ben's personality that we've all come to enjoy.

I think my heart did a little pitter pat of happiness when Ben says he told Fran he couldn't see the end of their relationship.

What do you think of the interview?

Shortly after GateWorld interviewed Ben Browder ("Colonel Cameron Mitchell") at the end of 2008, we received word of a new project he is starring in. "Freeze Frame" will tell the tale of two traumatized war veterans trying to end their lives, and Browder will play a pivotal role.

The YouTube video, a precursor to the full film, has garnered some attention, and despite the film’s early stage of development we wanted to hear more from Ben about the part.

Read the interview here.

One thing that I've always loved about Ben's interviews is that they're never boring, the man can't answer a question completely straight-lace. He's great at dodging questions he doesn't want to answer but in a way that's not insulting to the person conducting the interview and he keeps things fun, even when he's discussing something serious.

And how can you not like a guy that re-works Gunga Din for his daughter's first birthday? *vbg*

LAScaper regarding her interview of Ben about Freeze Frame:
I spoke with Ben about his new role in the upcoming movie Freeze Frame. But talking to Ben rarely results in a straight Q&A session. The topics of conversation included the nature of veterans health issues highlighted in Freeze Frame, the movie’s promotional website, Freeze Frame’s award winning writer and producer Jonas McCord, when is a blog not a blog, the idea that artistic expression may affect social change, how tuned in fans are to his projects, coaching high school pole vaulting, fear of the dentist leads to sanity in stunt work, the joys of rhyming poetry, family pets, and then back to the subject at hand.

Freeze Frame is intended to add to the centuries old conversation about taking care of the men and women that fight to protect our freedoms. As Ben put it, “What you’re really talking about is the state of individuals who return from war. And how they cope. In my estimation it’s a human story.” One thing’s for sure when you’re talking to Ben Browder. It’s always interesting!

The interview can be found here.

This is a small picture I did for Freeze Frame, I actually have a full wallpaper size version but considering I got the caps from a download of the youtube clip, I didn't have the greatest quality to work with. (really a pain in the butt to work with as well but I did the best I could.) I was going to post this here last night but for some reason the style I had on the comm blew up.

I now have a new style up for the community that I think (I hope) fits Ben. Feel free to let me know what you think of it.
