Courtesy of Naught PI Agency: Jeffrey Berman just released a new photo on Naught For Hire's Facebook. The Naught for Hire Facebook page has also been updated with the info that the series will be released in 2012, although it does not give a solid date. But wth the release of two new pictures now and a new date, I think it's safe to assume that things are moving along as well as all are hoping for.



I should also add the news that there are workings to get TPTB for the movie Bad Kids Go To Hell (based on the graphic novel) interested in Ben. You can find info about it here but I just wanted to pass on the word because if enough people hit their Facebook and website asking for Ben as Max (and by the way, Ben really wants to do this part) there's a damn good chance they'll get the role. From what I understand they were shocked when Scapers got the word out and even Hulk Hogan tweeted about it on his Twitter account for Ben to play the role!

Not only is he going to be staring in this webisode series, he's also working behind the scenes as Executive Producer! I'm excited about this, though I'm still looking forward to getting to see him Direct (which he's been asked to do for the Farscape webisodes when they are made).

Naught For Hire, a sci-fi/noir romp about a private detective and his relationship with the inanimate objects in his life, is one of those series.

Naught For Hire is created by screenwriter and producer Jeffrey Berman and produced by Berman’s production company RDRR Productions, which also created The Write Environment, which featured intimate interviews with a series of writers, the most popular episode featuring the fan-favorite, Joss Whedon. The series is based off a book of the same name by award winning writer, John E. Stith, who also co-writes on the series.

This description had me bouncing in my seat even more (if that was even possible).

The series will consist of six minute episodes with a 13 episode season planned. Episodes echo the spirit of pulp-style serialized detective stories, with each episode ending on a cliffhanger. Not forgetting the sci-fi side of the series, the show is set in a world 20 years in the future where humans co-exist with A.I. embedded objects, leaving hard-boiled, down-on-his-luck Private Detective Nick Naught to try to do his job while competing with a car that is in love with him, an elevator that won’t cooperate, and an answering machine that wants to do nothing but pull pranks on him. Imagine what his gun must be like…

There is a film in development based on the Lee Child novel "One Shot". The screenplay has been adapted by Josh Olsen. I have heard from a good source Mr. Child likes Ben for Jack Reacher, the main character. Paramount however wants "a name". Ben fans unite!
